Today implants are getting smarter and address many new disease pathways that could not be previously addressed. Medical device companies today are having to design these implants in much more rapid design cycles with the patient at the center of care which requires for instance moving from invasive to minimally invasive delivery procedures. This requires radical changes to the hardware and software design of medical implants. In this presentation we will discuss our vision for the next generation of implants and how we use human body models in Ansys as a key design tool to achieve this.
